Degree Programme in Acting in Swedish

The five-year degree programme in acting in Swedish is divided into a bachelor’s programme, which takes three years to complete, and a master’s programme, which takes two years. In addition to acting, the studies focus on improvisation, speech, music, movement, history of theatre and ideas, literature, and text analysis.

In the degree programme of acting in Swedish, students are trained to become actors who work in professional theatres. The objective of the studies is to function as spiritual inspiration and a cultural leader in the field of Swedish-speaking theatre in Finland. The aim is to train qualified and open-minded actors and support their growth as artists. The programme is continually developing through artistic research and explorations of new horizons. The programme is also involved in Nordic cooperation.

The programme mainly comprises the following study modules: acting (main subject), improvisation, speech, music, song, movement, history of theatre and ideas, literature, text analysis, and language studies.

The language of teaching and degree is Swedish.
