Sibelius Academy dean Kaarlo Hildén states that the ranking's top ten includes good spurrers with which the Sibelius Academy already cooperates closely.
– Ranking among the best in the world for the second year in a row is a significant recognition to our staff and I also want to thank them. Still we can’t just stay put and enjoy the success. In order to be successful in the global market you have to constantly challenge yourself and evaluate your goals, says Hildén.
For the second time, Juilliard School in New York was evaluated as the best in the world. British universities were ranked second, third and fourth. In the top ten were also Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (Austria, 5th), Royal College of Music in Stockholm (Sweden, 6th) and Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (France, 9th).
QS Quacquarelli Symonds’ annual university ranking is one of the world’s most prestigious. This year it included 46 subjects. In the ranking, research citations, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics are used.
