Academy of Fine Arts admission results 2016

Admission for 5.5 year programme leading to Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degree

In admission for 5.5-year programme leading to Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degree altogether 867 applications were submitted through the common Studyinfo-applications system. The artistic sample works, demanded by the Academy of Fine Arts, were received from 513 applicants. Of these, 61 applicants were invited to partake in the admission course and 60 of them participated to the course.

The sample works and works done during the admission course must be taken away on Thursday 9th June 2016 or Friday 10th June 2016. During both days the place is open between 9:00 – 16:00, Address: Mäkelänkatu 58-60 (entrance through Elimäenkatu 29, 5th floor), Helsinki, Finland. Works for which mailing has not been arranged in advance or which have not been fetched in time will be destroyed.

For 2 year programme leading to Master of Fine Arts degree in Academy of Fine Arts, 293 applications were submitted through the common Studyinfo-applications system. 59 applicants were invited to the interviews and all of them attended to the interview.

You must collect your portfolio from the caretaker of the Academy on 22 June, 2016 at the earliest and on 26 August 2016 at the latest at the address Elimäenkatu 25 A, Helsinki. Any uncollected portfolios or portfolios without sufficient reply postage will be destroyed after 26 August 2016.

 

PRAXIS – Master’s programme in exhibition studies

In Academy of Fine Arts admission for Praxis Master’s programme 45 applications were submitted through the common Studyinfo applications system, of them 10 applicants were invited to the interviews, all invited participated to the interviews.

An applicant dissatisfied with the decision can lodge a complaint within fourteen (14) days of the announcement (Universities Act, section 82, paragraph 1). The appeal is to be addressed to the concerned academy. The appeal must be in writing and it must be submitted to the University of the Arts Helsinki Registry by hand, e-mail, or regular mail. The sender is responsible for the submittal of the appeal. If you send the appeal by e-mail, please write the name of the academy in the subject field.

The letter of appeal must include: The sender's name and contact details, The sender's claims and The grounds for the sender's claims. The letter must include the documents related to the appeal, unless these documents are already in the possession of the purchase unit.

 A decision for which a rectification may be requested under Section 82 may not be appealed against. An appeal against a decision concerning a rectification request shall be lodged with the administrative court.
