Lecturer, SibA/Department of Wind instruments, Percussion, and Harp
The Finnish bassoonist Jussi Särkkä studied at the Sibelius Academy Helsinki with prof. Emanuel Elola and later a.o. with Laszlo Hara. He has worked as a solo bassoonist in several Finnish orchestras, a.o. The Helsinki Philharmonic, Finnish National Opera Orchestra and since 1995 in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has performed widely as a soloist and chamber musician in Finland and Europe. He was the artistic director of the Crusell Music Festival 2006-11.
Särkkä has also worked as the lecturer (professor) of bassoon at the Sibelius Academy Helsinki since 1994 and given master classes in Germany, Austria, France, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
