In Seinäjoki, we organize work-based individual trainings, coaching and seminars throughout the year.

Sibis Jazz Camp 9.-14.6.2024

Sibis Jazz Camp is a jazz music camp suitable for musicians of all levels; amateurs, students and professionals. A course built around instrument playing, instrument clinics, lectures, jams and concerts suitable for instrumentalists and singers interested in jazz music. The students of the camp form bands, whose work is the most essential part of the course. The course participants will work on playing together. This work culminates to a concert at the end of the course on Friday 14.6. The camp practices a wide range of jazz music genres from different eras, and the program is developed in collaboration with the students’ wishes. 

Teachers Ape Anttila (bass, course leader, band), Mikael Jakobsson (piano, band), Adele Sauros (wind instruments, band), Ville Pynssi (drums, band) and Teemu Viinikainen (guitar, band). This year there won’t be separate teacher for vocals but singers are very welcome to participate in the camp. Singers will be guided by the instrumental teachers. 

Course fee: 390 €
Application period: Apply no later than 1.5.2024. 
You’ll get confirmation if your application was granted on week 19.

Piano Summer Academy by Teppo Koivisto 30.7.-4.8.2024

Pianist Teppo Koivisto’s master course focuses on attendees own repertoire. Each participant will get 5 private lessons during the course. The students will have great facilities for training and grand pianos to play. The course culminates on final concert on Sunday 4th of August.

Course fee:  380 € 
Application period ends: 31th May 2024.
You’ll get confirmation if your application was granted by June 30th.

The course is organized by the department of piano music at Sibelius-Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki.

Atso Almila’s conducting masterclass 29.9.-3.10.2024

Atso Almila’s conducting masterclass is suitable for people who want to supplement their knowledge with orchestra conducting skills. The course provides preparation for hand motor skills, good conducting technique and ensemble practice through tasks of different levels. 

In the course, the conductor’s work is studied in a variety of ways. Teaching includes e.g. orchestra conducting theory, small group coaching, working with the Seinäjoki City Orchestra and analysis of videos and recordings taken from the work. 

Target group: conductors, concert masters, conductors of orchestras, choir directors, conductors of music college orchestras, composers, arrangers, church musicians, students and interested beginners 

Course fee: 650€ for active students, 250€ for passive students and lecture attendees

Cultural study of Music, candidate program

At the Seinäjoki unit of Uniarts Helsinki we started a three year candidate program in Cultural study of Music in the fall of 2022. The program is lead by Sibelius-Academy.
