HDW Guerrilla Lighting Jätkäsaari

Guerrilla Lightning
Thursday, September 14, 2017 - 19:30 to 21:00
Jätkäsaari, Ruoholahti
City Walk

We, master students from the department of Lighting Design, in The Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts would like to invite you, all citisens, to Jätkäsaari to transform our public space to a more luminous one!

Guerilla Lighting is a concept that started in Great Britain where with fast - guerilla like - interventions the makers want to bring into focus the city and its architecture in a new light and occupy the public space by usage of light. The purpose of Guerilla Lighting is to bring attention to how and why our surrounding is being lit, and how an ordinary citisen can influence on the surrounding lighting.

HDW Guerilla Lighting Jätkäsaari is realised as a part of an course in architectural lighting at Theatre Academy and as a part of Helsinki Design Weeks programme.

Starting point at the Clarion Hotel on Thursday Sep 14 at 19.30, from where we go together along the route to Laivapojanaukio 2: and further on to Ruoholahdenpuisto and the channel area. Please dress accordingly to the weather. Welcome!
