Composer Lauri Kilpiö’s first post-graduate recital features works by him written in the past five years.

The first half of the recital includes three works for solo instruments – organ, clavichord and guitar – that expand conventional conceptions of music written for them. The organ piece specifies unusual registrations, the clavichord is played not only on the keyboard, and the guitar is played on the strings and on the body using hands, picks, slides and even a credit card. The second half of the recital is a concert version of the chamber opera Mustan veden yli [Over black water] to a libretto by Johanna Vento.
