Kim Borg 100 – celebratory recital
A recital celebrating the life and career of internationally celebrated Finnish bass singer Kim Borg (1919–2000).
Borg was one of the most distinguished Finnish performers of his day. In 1959, he became the first Finnish singer ever to appear at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. From 1972 to 1989, he was a Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Bass singer Jyrki Korhonen and pianist Markus Lehtinen pay tribute to Borg with a programme of opera arias, folk song arrangements written by Borg, and solo songs by Sibelius, Kilpinen and Tchaikovsky.
