Cranes, swans, spring nights and nature in general have fascinated Finnish artists, beginning with Sibelius and his contemporaries in music and literature. This was an era of Finnish cultural awakening and the shaping of a Finnish identity. Organist Ville Urponen and reciter/actor Pia Koponen have created a programme combining and merging organ music with texts. The selected texts include prose and poetry by Eino Leino, Zachris Topelius and Pia Koponen, and also extracts from the correspondence of Aino and Jean Sibelius.
