Tapiola Sinfonietta and the woodwind students of the Sibelius Academy join forces under the baton of Michael Collins in the final concert of the Woodwinds event.
Jazz-pianist Iiro Rantala, famous for bashing the boundaries between genres, will give us a fresh take on one of Mozart’s most beloved piano concertos. Clarinet virtuoso and our faculty member Christoffer Sundqvist will perform the jazzy concerto by Aaron Copland.
A grand finish to our concert is provided by a performance of what is probably the most essential piece for woodwinds ever written, Mozart’s wonderful Gran Partita.
