Rachael Allen was born in Derby in 1984, and currently lives and works in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Her work centers on miniature model making and drawing, reflecting her interests which include anatomy, medical pedagogy, clinical practice, science, SCIART and participatory arts. Her richly textured interdisciplinary practice cultivates engagement with what it is to be human.

This lecture series inquires into the future of art by taking a closer look at the new languages, models and forms that the latest generation of artists are creating in response to the urgent questions arising today in the domains of art, politics and sociology. The series will explore the new spaces and potentialities of art by bringing together participants from diverse fields, including art, music, activism, science, technology, literature and theory.

The Prognostics lecture series is curated by Barbara Vanderlinden, Professor of Exhibition Studies and Director of the Exhibition Laboratory. The Prognostics Lecture Series is supported by the Saastamoinen Foundation.
