Maj Lind Piano Competition: Second Round
Second Round of the International Maj Lind Piano Competition
After First Round maximum 14 participants will be accepted for the Second Round.
According to the rules the repertoire of the Second Round is as follows:
1) The work by Outi Tarkiainen commissioned for the competition or an improvisation lasting not more than 10 minutes on a theme given to the contestant 20 minutes before the performance
2) A Sibelius programme
3) A programme of the contestant’s own choice
International Maj Lind Competition 14-27 October 2022
The high-profile International Maj Lind Piano Competition will be bringing around 40 young keyboard virtuosi from all over the world to Helsinki in October. The lucky competition applicants will play a wide selection of familiar works by composers ranging from Beethoven to Sibelius and from Rachmaninov to Chopin, but also more recent repertoire. The contestants successful in the exciting first two rounds will proceed to the Chamber Music Final. The competition will culminate in Orchestral Finals at the Helsinki Music Centre in which the best six contestants will perform a piano concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
