Tiny Voices: The untold stories of love, truth, resistance, and solidarity
Inside every head there are tiny voices that are initially never silent. Over time, we train ourselves to filter these voices, whilst simultaneously nurturing them in ways that make sense to us both individually and collectively. This process bears a striking resemblance to the function of tesserae, which are small blocks of stone, tile, glass, or other materials used in the creation of mosaics. Our own tiny voices can be made up of sound, image, and stories that represent our unique experiences. They are a collection of moments that paint a larger picture and stay with us throughout our lives. It is up to the individual to move through these experiences and constantly make space for the new voices that arise.
In this concert, you are invited to witness diverse sonic moments compiled in the form of a mix tape, made up of six tiny voices. These unique voices are infused with contemporary elements, double bass, rhythmic traditions of the Caribbean, Greek urban folk, Punk rock, ska, and original compositions that all coexist harmoniously, or not so harmoniously within the same head. This head opens for the first time in public and welcomes you to bear witness to the tiny voices, connect the dots, and create your own interpretation of the resulting mosaic.
