Indisciplinary Symphony: Learning (from) the Present – Fragment number 2 (Finland)
UPDATE MAY 31:
Announcement on unpredictability
Unfortunately, the sudden aggravation of a health problem obliges Jacques Ranciere to renounce of his traveling to Helsinki this time. Nevertheless, in spirit with the "Ignorant Schoolmaster", he will be intervening from a distance, in dialogue with the participants via contributing texts and visual stimuli during the week of the course and the public event.
In these slightly changed circumstances, the public event in Oodi will be called "Reverberations of Ignorant Schoolmaster".
A group of contributors working in Helsinki and abroad influenced by Ranciere's poetics will participate in a public debate, announcing a continuation: Interdisciplinary Fragment number 3 in Finland (2020).
"Poems from which we learned" will premiere in Oodi, sharing years of working in collaboration and experimentation of the collective Phd In One Night with J.Ranciere in different circumstances and locations.
After the screening, a public debate will follow with Janne Porttikivi, Pia Euro, Ari Hirvonen, Maiju Loukola, Leonardo Kovačević & Ivana Momčilović.
This public event will present the results of the course “Learning (from) the present - Indisciplinary Symphony” organized as a collaboration between the three University of the Arts Helsinki academies (Academy of Fine Arts, Theatre Academy and Sibelius Academy), Phd In One Night group and HIAP.
The participants of the course have been invited to displace academic separations of genres, disciplines, and expertise to work with different aspects of knowledge, the methodological and magical. The course is an invitation for further reflections and actions on the topics of equality, emancipation, singular and common, objective and subjective, theory and practice, mobility in/and the immobility, placement, displacement, “aesthetic revolution”, “poetics of knowledge”, aesthetic materialism.
