Discussion event for artists of the Helsinki Biennial and Uniarts Helsinki’s Research Pavilion

The event is a part of Uniarts Helsinki’s fourth Research Pavilion, taking place in Hietsun Paviljonki and its surroundings in Helsinki 5 June – 29 August 2021.

Research Pavilion

The artists of the Helsinki Biennial and the University of the Arts Helsinki Research Pavilion discuss their works exhibited in Helsinki during the summer, the audience relationship of the works and how they relate to artistic research in contemporary art.    

The discussion will be held in the Ateljé Hall of the Hietsu Pavilion, where Salla Myllylä’s work Season Room (2021) is displayed. The debate takes place in English. 

Speakers: Samir Bhowmik (HB), Laura Könönen (HB), Teemu Lehmusruusu (HB), Otso Lähdeoja (RP), Salla Myllylä (RP), Sari Palosaari (HB), Mammu Rankanen (RP) and Denise Ziegler (RP, moderator) 

HB=Helsinki Biennial, RP= Research Pavilion 

The public can follow the debate within limitations, both in the Ateljé Hall and outdoors. 

Research Pavilion #4: Helsinki 

Fine arts, concerts, performances, workshops and discussions with an inquiring mindset – welcome to the Uniarts Helsinki Research Pavilion to see and experience what artistic research is all about. Previously arranged in connection with the Venice Biennale, this time the Pavilion will gather artist-researchers to Hietsu in Helsinki.   

Uniarts Helsinki’s fourth Research Pavilion will be organised with the support of the Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation.
