ACO – Artistic Collaboration

ACO is a mini festival of three works, three venues and five evenings combining six degree programs.

ACO is the outcome of the Theatre Academy’s and Aalto ARTS’ study module that focuses on collaboration in artistic exploration through a research process. The participating students represent the Master of Arts degree programmes in Choreography, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Scenography, Costume Design and the Bachelor of Arts programme in Dance. Aiming at a collaborative process in which all the different fields interact creatively with one another, the students practice their ability to perceive the relationship between their own personal artistic medium, the thematic starting points and material realization of a performance. The collaborative starting point, collective design methods and the limited rehearsal- and performance running time, have challenged the students to work creatively in a responsible and intensive manner.
