Nordic Masters in Jazz

Nordic Masters in Jazz (NOMAZZ) is a joint Nordic jazz music master’s programme in which you will develop and expand your artistic vision, technical skills, and knowledge of the Nordic jazz field. The language of the degree programme is English. As a student in the programme, you will have the opportunity to focus on your individual expression in such a way that will give you the skills for demanding musician, orchestral conducting, arranger-composer or instructor assignments.

Study

NOMAZZ is a joint Nordic jazz music Master’s programme organized by the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg (Denmark), Sibelius Academy, and the Royal College of Music (Sweden). The programme enables you to develop and enhance your artistic vision, technical skills, and knowledge of the Nordic jazz field. The language of the degree programme is English. As a student in the programme, you will have the opportunity to focus on your individual expression in such a way that will give you the skills to work as a versatile jazz music professional.

 

The arranging universities take turns hosting the studies. Students will be granted a € 1000 Nordplus study grant for studies abroad.

 

The studies are free of charge for students from the European Union and United States students who apply via Sibelius Academy. 

How to Apply

Bachelor degree holders can apply. The master’s programme is applied for via the organising institutes. The institute through which you apply becomes your ‘home school’ that will host the graduation. As a student, you are required to have a good command of English, and your language skills will be evaluated during the entrance examination.
