THEATRE ACADEMY’S ADMISSION RESULTS (ADMISSION PROPOSAL)

Based on the results of the student admissions of the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, applicants listed below are acceptable as students at the Theatre Academy from the beginning of the academic year 2017-2018.

We will send email on 8 June – 9 June 2017 to those who are acceptable as students and those on the stand-by list.

All University of the Arts Helsinki’s programmes are conducted in the national Joint Application to higher education. Applicants have been able to apply for a maximum of six programmes in the Joint Application, and they were to set the programmes in an order of preference. The order is binding. Applicant can be accepted as a student to only one programme in Joint Application. If an applicant is acceptable as a student to more than one programme, he/she can only be accepted to the programme that is highest in the order of preference. One study place per term provision applies to all higher education regardless of how the application was executed.

One study place per term provision:

  • According to this provision, a student may accept only one study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland during one academic term. This rule applies to all higher education (Bachelor and Master degrees, Licentiate and Doctoral degrees).
  • The provision applies to higher education regardless of how the studies are provided. For example, if you have accepted a study place from a separate application, you cannot accept a study place from the joint application in the same term. Only exceptions to the provision are: Transfer student selections, the Åland Polytechnic and the Police College of Finland. Furthermore, the provision cannot be applied to studies completed at foreign higher education institutions.
  • All universities and polytechnics must make their proposals for admission by the end of June. The final result of the national Joint Application is ready 30.6.2017. All applicants will receive an e-mail with the final national results. You can see the results also at www.studyinfo.fi (My Studyinfo –service).

If you have prioritised another Finnish university or polytechnic higher on the list and you are accepted to the school in question, you cannot be admitted to the Theatre Academy and you cannot confirm your study place. Also, in case you already have accepted a separate application study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland starting 1 August 2017, you cannot accept this study place.

You are to confirm your study place by 3.00 PM on 14 July 2017.
