Record-breaking amount of incoming exchange applications to the Sibelius Academy

Sibelius Academy has received record-breaking 223 incoming exchange applications for the academic year 2017-2018.

The application round for the incoming exchange students for the 2017-2018 academic year ended on 31 March 2017. In total 223 students applied to Sibelius-Academy for an exchange; 151 applied to the Faculty of Classical Music and 72 applied to the Faculty of Music Education, Jazz and Folk Music. Faculty of Wind instruments, percussion and harp received the most applications and the biggest increase in the number of applications compared to last year was at the Faculty of Music Technology. Number of applications addressed to the Department of Jazz was also remarkably higher than last year. Most of the students, 120, applied for the whole academic year 2017-2018 and 86 applied for the autumn term and 17 for the spring term. The incoming applications cover the Erasmus and Nordplus exchange programmes as well as bilateral exchange agreements.
