Sibelius Academy of the Uniarts Helsinki is recruiting a Guitar Music Lecturer (1-2 posts). The final candidates have been invited to the demonstrations of aptitude on 20-21 April.

The evaluation is comprised of the following:

1. Performance demonstration, piece/pieces of applicant’s choice, max.20 minutes
2. Teaching demonstration, the applicant teaches a master level guitar student, max. 30 minutes

The pieces to be taught are the following:

  • J.S.Bach:  Cello Suite No.2, D minor, 1. movement Prélude (BWV 1008), the arrangement of Marcos Díaz (2006), approximately 15 minutes
  • Manuel de Falla: Homenaje pour le tombeau de Claude Debussy, editions by Llobet and Duarte, approximately 15 minutes

Interview, max. 20 minutes

  • Duration per candidate is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes with the (including the changes between the demonstration parts).

The evaluation is comprised of the following:

1. Performance demonstration, piece/pieces of applicant’s choice, max.10 minutes
2. A short lecture-type presentation of guitar pedagogical topic to pedagogy students, exact topic of your own choice, max. 20 minutes
3. Teaching demonstration, the applicant teaches a master guitar student, max 20 minutes

  • The piece to be taught is J.S.Bach’s Cello Suite No.2, D minor, 1. movement Prélude (BWV 1008), the arrangement of Marcos Díaz (2006), approximately 15 minutes

Interview, applicant presents in short his/her own views of developing guitar pedagogy, max. 20 minutes
